Selena
She broke down the walls of the music industry by performing, singing and designer. She was simultaneously contemporary and traditional, a Mexican American who united the two worlds together in a distinctive manner. Similar to how there are many who mourn a superstar who has died far from their prime, the death of her was not a good time and ended an energizing career. Since then, her fans have worked even more to keep in mind what she has achieved. Her tragic death in a shooting caused a reaction in the Latino Community that was comparable to reactions following the deaths of Elvis Presley or John Lennon. An enormously popular singer within Latino communities throughout North America her music crossed lines of cultural difference to affect the lives of young as well as old. Selena may have been hailed by certain people as an Latina Madonna, but she's still a fantastic character model. Selena's off-stage family values as well as her involvement with AIDS awareness efforts are exemplary.
